I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks which showed twins, in distinct sacs, both with strong heartbeats and both of the expected size. However, one sac measures 1.5 centimeters, the other 2.5 centimeters. Does this indicate that one is likely to "vanish"?
The fact that both fetuses are measuring the same and have good heartbeats is reassuring. It would be unlikely for one to vanish after seeing a heartbeat, but it can happen. Sometimes, there can be slight inequity in the sac sizes, as one might have more of the bulk of placental tissue or just normal variation.

Please advise if it is possible to tell if the twin pregnancy will be preterm by measuring the belly size and water bag being big by ultrasound finding. Also if this is OK, then what kind of precautions should we take and what are the chances for survival?
