Marianne's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

Introduction

Hello all!

Things continue to be very busy. I am somewhat regretting picking up this diary. I barely get on the Internet when I am at home and am thinking about getting rid of it. We have Roadrunner and it is quite expensive. Before the kids, I was on it all the time. Now, I'm just not sure if it is worth it. Last winter, I used it alot to connect to work if the girls were sick but I don't think I will need it that much this winter because I'm starting a new position with my company. Anyway, we shall see.

The girls are doing great. We have a follow up visit at our NICU in January. They have 3-4 follow up visits from birth until the age of 3. We look forward to it because we like to see the doctors and nurses again although I do not remember most of their names anymore! I'm not too concerned about any development issues. The girls are doing great with most everything. My only concern is that Cassidy just seems to not be growing. I know that slows down the second year but she is now off the charts. Their two year appointment with our regular doctor isn't until March 1st. We will see...

Anyway, how many people have their kids sleep with them? Well, add us to the list. We had family stay with us over Thanksgiving and Elena kept getting up in the middle of the night. Typically, if she is going to end up waking up Cassidy, we put her in the crib in our spare room and help her get back to sleep. Well, over Thanksgiving, she ended up in our bed which she now definitely prefers. We are doing it more nights than not during the week. She is working on her first set of molars and has separation anxiety. I'm fine with her crying it out but it really seems like we will do that and get her sleeping good and then she gets sick or something else happens that she starts getting up again. I'm all for maximizing sleep.

The girls just started playing with dolls a few weeks ago. They kiss them, feed them, and push them around. I have the What to Expect the Toddler Years book and it's interesting to see when they hit different developmental milestones. I'm still a little sensitive because they were preemies.

This weekend was great. My in-laws took the girls Saturday night and we stayed in a hotel that was attached to a Casino. My husband had to do a "secret shopper" thing there so the room was paid for as well as $100 in food. You can't beat that! We also went to the movie "Love Actually". It was Ok. I want to see the new Julia Roberts movie when it comes out and Something's Gotta Give.

I have a dinner with my twin's mom group on Tuesday. Does anyone else do that? I love my group.

I gotta go!

Take care and Merry Christmas!
Marianne
