Introduction
All is going well in the Greater Chicagoland. We attended a wedding in Louisville at the end of March with the boys. They did very well. We got to see all my husband's relatives and some of them got to meet Trevor and Nathan for the first time. The drive was terrible since it poured the entire way there. We left on Thursday night to beat the moring traffic and planned to get to Indianapolis. The traffic was very slow because of the rain and we were exhausted so we only got to LaFayette, Indiana. It took us 4 hours to do a 2 hour drive.
The boys are doing great in school. They are learning things so quickly now. The teachers are having them spend time in the 4 year old room so they can get used to that and meet some of the older kids. They turn 4 in July so they try to slowly introduce them to the new teachers.
This is the first Easter the kids actually are excited. They have an egg hunt and party at school tomorrow, our neighborhood has an egg hunt on Saturday, and then of course the Easter Bunny will visit our house and hide real eggs and leave baskets. My parents send candy and they get candy at school so this year the Easter Bunny is bringing flash cards, work books, crayons, pencils, etc. In addition to Easter, there are 3 birthdays at school this week that all involve cupcakes and gift bags full of candy. Thank goodness they love brushing their teeth.
My parent's are out of town right now and about 3 weeks ago I went there to check on things and found about a foot of water in the basement. They lost the furnace, water heater, washer, dryer and a bunch of junk that should have been tossed years ago. I had to arrrange for the plumber to come out, file an insurance claim and clean the junk out of the house. We had to get a huge dumpster dropped off and we had it pretty much full. There was so much stuff down there that we couldn't figure out why they kept that it was unbelievable. My personal favorite was a bucket full of dirt---no joking---what the hell was with that? They also had trash compactor bags (remember those from the early 80's) for a compacter they haven't had in over 15 years. My next project is to go over and vacuum and mop the floor. The water damage guys sprayed stuff that we had to leave down for 2 weeks. I have a cold right now so once I feel better I will drag my butt over and do it. I'll have to recruit my sister to come help. She helped with the initial cleanup the day after we found the water, but she has pretty bad asthma so I wouldn't let her come over because it started smelling pretty moldy down there.
Happy Easter to everyone. If you don't celebrate Easter, then happy Spring.
