Anytown U Times Two
Planning for Multiples to Attend College By Barb Eimer
Lindsey and Lauren Walsh are sophomores at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. They live in the same dorm, are roommates and are sorority sisters in Pi Beta Phi. This is the second year they've lived together and they love it. "My experience at Miami thus far has been absolutely amazing!" says Lindsey. "I adore the school and have met so many incredible people. I love my sorority, and it definitely makes it nice having Lauren in the same one." Lindsey enjoys living wit Lauren, because she knows her so well and she didn't want the suspense (and possible drama) of having a stranger live with her.
Lauren and Lindsey have different majors but see each other often on campus. They are competitive in grades and sports, but "definitely not to the point of fighting," says Lindsey.
What's the biggest problem in having an identical twin on campus? Even though Miami has 16,000 undergrads, people often get the girls mixed up and assume that one twin is rude when she doesn't speak to him or her when really it is the other twin that they know.
The other area where things can get kind of tricky is relationships with guys, they say. "We definitely don't compete over any boys, but we hardly ever like who each other chooses," Lindsey says. "All of our friends and our parents agree that it's because we both feel as if no one is good enough for the other. Of course, we disagree."
All in all, the girls say that they would not change anything. They love being at the same school and would recommend to any twins who are close to consider the same.
