Snowflakes and Snowmen
Winter Crafts for Little Ones

What is more adorable than a toddler all bundled up for winter? Not many things, but the look on your child's face when he shows off one of these cute winter crafts comes close.
Adult supervision is required when making these crafts.
Use this craft as a teachable moment to talk about how no two snowflakes are exactly alike and how snowflakes are made. You can use this lesson to talk about shapes and designs, too.
You'll need:
White construction paper
White or clear glue
Glitter
Paintbrush
Scrap cardboard
String
Here's what you do:
Fold a piece of white construction paper in half and then in half again. This way you should have four pieces folded together.
Next, help your child cut out a "snowflake." You can cut the corners off or cut out different sizes of triangles. Another idea is to draw lines for them to follow along. Then, carefully unfold the paper and see the fun design.
Lay the snowflake on the scrap piece of cardboard and brush on some glue with a paintbrush. Your child is going to sprinkle the glitter over the glue, so it may be a good idea to work in sections so the glue doesn't dry. Give your child the glitter and let him sprinkle away! Allow the snowflake to dry completely before punching a hole in the top and attaching a piece of string to hang it. Another idea is to put a small magnet on the back and display the snowflake on the refrigerator.

You'll need:
Old shoebox
Black and green paint
White or clear glitter
Paintbrushes
Large white pompon balls
Snowman embellishments
White tacky glue
