One of Each
Expecting Boy/Girl Twins
By Alexandria Powell
(HarperCollins, 2000). "Some twin pairs have a closer bond, while others are not as close. But there is a bond that is usually there."
With boy/girl twins, even before they hit preschool they have shared a lot of life experiences together, says Pearlman. "They play together, and if they are in the same room, they are the first person each sees in the morning and the last they see at night," she says. "There is this closeness, this history that goes on with them. They may grow apart as they get older, but there is this initial attachment."
Definitely, says Robinson, who notes that the only sex-specific items her children have are their clothes. "They share everything else," she says.
Elizabeth Lyons, author of Ready or Not ... Here We Come! The REAL Experts' Cannot-Live-Without Guide to the First Year With Twins (Finn-Phyllis Press, 2003), agrees. "As far as items like diapers, toys and baby gear go there really won't be any gender-specific baby needs," she says. "Most items can be shared." (Although it will obviously be necessary to double upon some larger items, such as child safety seats.)

I have a twin brother, and that bond is still strong. When people find out I have a twin brother I still get asked if we're identicle. I always say "yes, except he has brown hair and eyes, I have light hair and green eyes. He's darker complected and I'm really fair. He grows a beard and moustache and I shave mine off." I get funny/dirty looks for saying that but come on, Identicle? So many people automatically think that if you're a twin you must be identicle. Until I explaine the diff.

girl twin seems much more alert during awake times and sleeps for longer stretches of time. boy twin typically feeds 3-4 hourly. Both are gorgeous though.

My girl/boy twins are now 17 yrs old. As long as he remembers that that she's the boss, all is well. They may not get along at times but there is a definite bond and it is very obvious when thay are tuned into each other and block me out.........I then will say "Will you stop being twins?"
