Gobbles of Fun
Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids
By Kymberly Pratt
4. Assemble your tree by using glue or the Velcro strips.
This tree looks great hanging on a wall or door.
You'll need:
- Tiny pumpkins
- Tempera paints
- Brushes
- Yarn or pompons
- Glue
- Markers
- Scissors
Here's what you do:
1. You will need one pumpkin for every member of your family. Let everyone paint "themselves" on their pumpkin. Paint your eyes, nose, ears, etc., and then glue on the yarn or pompons for hair. You can even use small twigs or pipe cleaners for arms. Use your imagination!
2. When done, let them dry completely.
Use these pumpkins as a table decoration or put them on your coffee table or fireplace mantle. They also make great gifts for grandparents.
You'll need:
- Lunch sack
- Leaves
- White construction paper
- Glue
- Pinecone
- Wiggle eyes
Here's what you do:
1. The first thing you need to do is go for a nature walk. Take your lunch sack and collect as many fall leaves as you can find. Make sure to pick up a pinecone on the way, too.
2. After you get home, spread your leaves out on the table and arrange them in a semi-cicle on the white construction paper. You can cover almost the entire paper. You are making the turkey's feathers with the leaves. After you have arranged them, glue them to your paper and secure them to each other so they will not fall off.
