Valentine's Day Fun
Recipes and Crafts Made with Love
By Kymberly Pratt
You'll need:
White ceramic plate
Pillar candles of varying sizes (3, 4 and 5 inches tall)
Sequins, glitter, beads, wiggle eyes
White tacky glue
Paint and brushes
Hot glue gun
Old kitchen towel
Here's what you do:
1. Place a candle on its side, and make sure to place it on the towel so it does not roll around. Help your kids decorate the candles by gluing on embellishments such as sequins, wiggle eyes, etc., or help them paint the candle with the paint. Allow each side to dry before rolling the candle to continue. Or decorate the candle while it is standing up.
2. Allow the candles to dry completely, and then hot glue them onto the plate. Children can sprinkle any leftover embellishments around the edge of the plate.
You'll need:
Glass bowl
Rocks
Red, white and pink paint
Brushes
Marbles
Floating candle
Here's what you do:
1. Let your children paint the rocks red, white and pink. They could even use glitter or sequins on the rocks. The sky is the limit with decorations! After the rocks are completely dry, let your child carefully drop them into the glass bowl.
2. Fill the bowl with water until it is about1 1/2 inches from the top. Add the floating candles.
