Homemade Fun
Games to Make – Then Play – With Your Child
By Donna Smith
Keep little ones entertained on the next rainy day with these simple craft projects. They are fun to make together – and they'll keep kids busy for hours!
Flip the Cup Game
What you need:
Empty yogurt cup
Cardboard paper towel tube
2 paper fasteners
1 shoelace
Stickers, markers, crayons
Here's what you help your child do:
Tie an end of the shoelace to one of the paper fasteners. Measure about 1 inch down on the paper towel tube, and push the paper fastener through tube. Bend points of fastener to secure. Tie the other end of the shoelace to the second paper fastener. Punch a hole through the bottom of the yogurt container, and bend points of fastener to secure.
What your child can do on his own:
Use stickers, markers or crayons to decorate the container. Be creative!
How to play:
Hold one end of the tube and flip the yogurt cup up and try to catch it on the end of the tube. Challenge your friends!
